Why Travel?

As a young man my father often talked to me about travel.

He used to say that it is one of the best ways to open the mind and see the world from a different perspective.

And he was right.

Since leaving high school I have done quite a lot of traveling. I have gone to India and to China and seen some amazing sights.

I have been to Borneo and Bali and experience food and wildlife that I only ever thought I’d see on TV.

But most importantly, I’ve gone different places in my mind. I’ve learned new things about myself. I’ve been sick and I’ve been challenged.

This is the real beauty of travel.

Save some money and go. It doesn’t matter where.

It will change everything.

Being alone?

Have you ever thought that you just needed to get away from it all?

Be alone.

But not be lonely?

I think we spend far too much time being connected these days. And we are addicted to it all. We need to disconnect. Learn to be with our selves again.

I actually think that, once we do this, we will be able to connect with each other better than before and in a more meaningful way.

It used to just be free blogs that were hosted by someone else.

And then people stepped up and made their own self-hosted blog that were more professional.

And then it all went social and people moved to sites like Facebook and Twitter.

I wonder where it is going next?

It seems like mobile is the real future. Even for computers. In just a few years I think we are going to see laptops and PCs become less relevant and people will move more to mobile devices that are a hybrid of what we have now.
